Strategic document for Nahariya 2040

As part of the strategic accommodation plan, the planning office-Northern district initiated the preparation of a strategic examination form for Nahariya, that is while consolidating with the relevant authorities and groups. The document inspected the feasibility of an addition of residential units around the city of Nahariya while administering a general planning view and as part of the strategic accommodation plan for the year 2040. The document proposes tools for application: statutory, regulatory and economic. The plan offers an addition of 13,000 RUs in the short-medium term and an addition of 15,000-18,000 RUs in the long term. Almost all of the additional RUs will be added as part of the urban renewal within the existing city areas. Construction outside city borders will be done as completion of the urban renewal and in support of it. In addition to adding the RUs the plan also proposes new educational areas, re-use of existing compounds, to treat the streams running through the city along with exposing and making them accessible, and encouraging use of public transportation within the city along with adding more bus terminals.
